One of my favorite aspects of photography is meeting people, whether that be through organized portraiture, travel, or just hanging out in a living room while my friends’ friends play guitar. Everybody has a story, a result of some kind of pain and joy and fulfillment, and that story shows in their eyes, in the way they hold themselves, and in their personality. I love to capture that.
I enjoy all things creative. As a child I wrote and illustrated my own stories, and started photographing around age 8. I spend some time in graphic design, letterpress, cooking, historical photography processes, oil painting, delving into human-computer interaction, fashion and literature.
I live for languages and travel: you might call it an addiction, seeing and capturing new (to me) places and cultures. It truly expands my spirit and my heart. I feel most at home in the woods, on the rocky coast, on mountaintop or in open field. I was born and raised in Silicon Valley, in a home where at least 3 computers were being built at any given time. Many of my summers, by contrast, were spent on a dairy farm in Idaho. My life and passions reflect similar incongruity, and my focus is often torn in a hundred directions. I want all things of mine to be a result of my own effort and creation. I want to build it myself; I want to learn how it works; I want to design it to meet my exact vision, and I only want enough help to get me in that capable state. That being said, I love working with people who share my same level of interest and dedication toward a project.
Contact me so we can work together. I especially love collaborating with and learning from other artists and photographers, so shoot me an email!
